Fourteen full time, 12 month accredited work-based placements in heritage management are available. Part of the Strengthening Our Common Life (SOCL) by nurturing heritage skills, these bursary supported traineeships enable trainees achieve the QCF Level 3 diploma in cultural heritage. The scheme is hosted by a consortium of 14 leading heritage organisations in London, Bristol, Manchester, Newcastle and Portsmouth, including, Southbank Centre, British Museum, National Portrait Gallery, Historic Royal Palaces, and Bristol Museums, Galleries and Archives. SOCL is supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund as part of its Skills for the Future programme.
