The Caine Prize 2013, which champions African writing, is hosting an exciting series of readings and public events in London in July at different venues, including the Southbank Centre, the Royal Over-seas League and the British Library. Events include an evening with the Caine Prize 2013 nominees with author readings on 4 July at the Royal Over-seas League. On 5 and 6 July is the Africa-writes festival with five the shortlisted writers and distinguished authors Doreen Baingana, Zoe Wicomb, and Stephanie Newell at the British Library Conference Centre. Finally, on 7 July, the shortlisted writers discuss their work with award-winning writer and editor Nii Parkes at the Southbank Centre.
