The Equip (Equality in Publishing) project and the Department of Creative Practice and Enterprise at City University London are looking for submissions for a one-day conference on 8 May 2013 on the theme of Developing the Publishing Workforce. Bobby Nayyar and Mary Ann Kernan of Equip and City University London will also present the findings of Equip’s research projects in 2012–13, funded by Arts Council England, relating to workforce diversity in the industry and the Publishing Equalities Charter, launched in November 2012. Conference contributions need to relate to the publishing industry or other creative industries, such as case studies of current workforce development and recruitment practices, the changing skill needs of the publishing industry, reviews of diversity or equality initiatives within publishing or associated creative industries, internship programmes, their effects, and the outcomes for interns or current digital-enabled developments in publishing practices.
